Being an Introvert (Life of an Introvert)

being an introvert

Being an Introvert, people think you’re weird, always thinking and looking instead of talking, not socializing enough at events or not socializing at all. Well you’re not weird, being an Introvert is totally fine and most certainly isn’t something that needs to be cured or treated and no it is not a phase that you’ll grow out of. There are Extroverts then there are Introverts and its OK being an Introvert just like its OK being an Extrovert, you don’t need to change your inner Introvert just to satisfy people who can’t understand the way an Introvert works.

Common misconceptions about Introverts and why they are untrue

  • They are mean or rude which is why they don’t talk to everyone

Introverts are not rude nor are they mean, they just prefer not to talk to everyone, instead they like to choose who they communicate with.

  • Introvert is just a fancy word for shy people

Not all shy people are Introverts and not all Introverts are shy, an Introvert may or may not be shy, they simply require alone time to recharge and function normally.

  • Introverts are depressed which is why they don’t talk much

Depression and Introversion are not related at all, some of the most extroverted people are depressed while some of the most introverted people are the happiest.

If incase you are depressed, here’s how I defeated depression without medication.

  • Introverts are boring

Introverts like to have fun just like any other person, for they, too, are humans, they just have fun their own way which is different than the way an Extrovert would have fun but doesn’t mean being an introvert isn’t any fun.

  • Introverts can’t work well in groups

A group needs all kinds of different people in order to function properly, if everyone in a group was an Extrovert, there would be too much talk and very little work.
