LGBT movies are very hard to find and finding a good one is even harder as there aren’t as many LGBT movies as movies of other genres but with time more LGBT movies are being made as LGBTs aren’t forced to live in the closet anymore and people are more open about their sexuality. For today’s list we’ve picked 8 must see LGBT movies including English gay movies and transgender movies that we think are absolutely must watch movies.

Dallas Buyers Club (2013)
The movie is a biography starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Jared Leto. Jared Leto plays the character of Rayon a trans woman with HIV, a worthless person in the eyes of her father. Matthew McConaughey and Jared leto both won Oscar and Golden Globe for their performances.

The true story of Mary Griffith’s journey from a religious Christian to a Gay rights activist after her gay son commits suicide due to the pressure from his mother.

Call Me By Your Name (2017)
Based in Italy, 1980, a first love romance story between two men, the 17 year old Elio living with his family and a 24 year old intern Oliver working for Elio’s father.
Harvey Milk’s story as a Gay activist and how he became the first openly gay elected official only to get killed the following year. Harvey wanted America to have better LGBT laws.
Transgenders: Pakistan’s Open Secret (2011)
A documentary by the Pakistani Oscar winning Director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy about the problematic LGBT laws of Pakistan and the heartbreaking lives of some transgenders in Pakistan and the terrible conditions they live in.

The Danish Girl (2015)
Lili played by Eddie Redmayne opens up to wife Greda(Alicia Vikander) about him feeling like a woman form the inside and Greda’s unconditional support for Lili’s sex-change operation making her the first transgender woman.
Brokeback Mountain (2005)
A love story from the 60’s a time when people didn’t show any acceptance towards homosexuals and LGBT laws were very strict, two men working together on a mountain as sheep herders end up falling in love and having to hide their forbidden love for the next twenty years. It is an absolute must watch English gay movie, the movie in a way opened doors for more English gay movies to be made in Hollywood
