Underrated must see movies
Underrated must see movies
As a movie buff I watch a lot of movies and every now and again I come across movies that I find criminally underrated and it just shocks me to see how little people know about them, so I decided to make a list of movies that according to me are criminally underrated must see movies
1) Cocktail (1988)
This 88 Tom Cruise classic is a about a bartender with dreams of one day becoming a millionaire and falling in love with a rich girl along the way. It’s a great feel good movie and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t watch it.
2) Crazy/Beautiful (2001)
Just like the name suggest, this movie is a little crazy, its depressing and its beautiful at the same time, which is not what you’d expect from a teen flick. This movie shows the complications faced by two young lovers in a simple way.
3) Midnight’s Children (2012)
Very little amount of people knows about this gem of a movie and it got some hate by the novel fans. My advice, if you haven’t read the novel yet, watch Midnight’s Children, its nothing like anything you’ve ever seen before.
4) Two Night Stand (2014)
Unlike your average Rom-Coms, Two Night Stand is simple and doesn’t include so much teenage drama just two people, an apartment and good aesthetics.
5) Just Before I Go (2014)
An emotional journey about an extremely depressed person (Seann William Scott) who is on the verge of taking his own life and decides to go back to his home town to take revenge from the people he feels are responsible for his condition but ends up finding another reason to live.
Like this list? Here’s a list of movies that helped me through depression, be sure to check it out 🙂
6) Vanilla Sky (2001)
Starring Tom Cruise and Penélope Cruz, this great Fantasy/Romance flick is a remake of the 1997 Spanish movie, Open Your Eyes which is part of the reason this movie isn’t liked by so many. It is sad, it is touching and most of all it is absolutely MESMIRIZING.
7) Beautiful Creatures (2013)
Again, a movie hated only by the book lovers and Twilight haters. Yes, you read that correct, somehow a lot of people seem to avoid this beautiful film thinking it is another Twilight which it clearly isn’t. Now I don’t necessarily hate Twilight but comparing the two is just stupid.
8) Comet (2014)
A movie without an ending or a beginning, it shows parts of a six-year relation in bits and pieces. The movie, Comet, I have no words for. It is absolutely beautiful, it is mesmerizing, it leaves you in awe and most of all it is so UNDERRATED it hurts.
